Trypophobia

$250.00

This artwork belongs to the Quantum Particle collection, studies of different types of quantum particles, and what they would potentially look like if we could view them in physical form. I imagine that this is what particles would look like if we zoomed in, and magnified their forms. Perhaps they would be a mash-up of all the patterns of both the microcosm and macrocosm, with their own little spirits and personalities.

Trypophobia is a specific type of phobia characterized by a fear of holes. People with trypophobia may express feelings of disgust or fear when encountering stimuli containing irregular patterns or clustered holes. I find I am whatever the opposite of this is. I am drawn to repetitive circular patterns. They trigger a déjà vu kind of feeling within me, which then leads to me wanting to action these patterns in my creative exploration.

This artwork has been lovingly made using handmade, traditionally marbled paper, acrylic skins and collage elements, and layered with tiny detail over the top using acrylic paint and ink. All layers have been sealed using archival mediums.

This piece has been sealed with UV-Resistant varnish to perfectly protect the art for years to come.
