The Cave of Brahman

from $80.00

In Tantra and Kriya Yoga, there is a place known as the “Cave of Brahman.” Otherwise known as the “God Centre” or “Hidden Cave of God”.

In Western anatomy texts, it refers to the “third ventricle” of the brain, the space equally distanced between the ears, a structure that includes the pineal, pituitary, thalamus, and hypothalamus glands.

Through meditation, breath work and deep focus, one can achieve the illumination of this void around the pineal gland or "Third Eye". We can tap into the boundless knowledge and potential. We can access transcendental states just through the power of our breath. Our brains are antennae tuning into a particular frequency of consciousness.

There is also the power of sound frequencies having a profound effect on our neural pathways. The cymatics of sound and music can heal us in a multitude of ways, and this artwork was inspired by a vision that came to me in a deep, meditative state, whilst immersed in a sound healing bath.

Whilst working on this artwork I found that halfway through, it felt as if the paint itself, desired to become a conscious, living, breathing thing, growing in awareness of itself, transforming from two-dimensional into three.
